ATTRIBUTES OF JINN
According to Islam, jinn are beings with consciousness, reasoning and free will. Therefore, they are responsible to believe in Allah, adhere to His commands and worship Him. It is made clear in Chapter al-Jinn and other verses in the holy Quran.
The jinn were addressed by both our holy Prophet and Hazrat Moses and other prophets, listened to their messages, and some of them believed in Allah and some negated Him.
The following is stated in a hadith in Muslim : "The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) said, `There is not one of you who does not have a jinn or angel appointed to be his constant companion. According to another hadith related by Jabir, our Prophet said: Do not pay a visit to the women whose husbands are not with them because the devil moves inside your veins just as your blood does.
Thereupon, the companions asked him you too, O Messenger of Allah?. He said, Me too, but Allah has helped me and the devil has submitted to me (became a Muslim). The phrase became a Muslim given in brackets in the hadith is another meaning that is preferred. However hadith scholars say that it is out of the question for the devil to become a Muslim and add that it is better to use the phrase submit. The problem will be settled if we think that the jinn mentioned here is an unbeliever one. As a matter of fact, the unbeliever jinn are called devils.
How they reproduce and their life span?
There are male and female jinn, they get married and reproduce as we do; they eat, drink and die. Their life span however, is far greater than ours. They are said to live between 1000 and 1500 years. It is because they live in a different dimension. The flow of time is different there. Therefore, it is quite obvious that the news received by means of jinn are not unseen knowledge but based on their age and experience.
Their state in terms of faith and unbelief
There are unbelievers, believers and hypocrites (munafiqs) among jinn; the unbeliever jinn are called Satan. The jinn are also subject to trial and testing in this world and will be held responsible for their acts in the hereafter; they will go either to Hell or to Paradise. Those having faith in Allah and doing good deeds will be rewarded with Paradise, and those negating Him, and not seeking repentance from Him will be punished with hell just like us. After all, in the Quran the following is stated:
Many are the Jinn and men we have made for Hell: They have hearts wherewith they understand not, eyes wherewith they see not, and ears wherewith they hear not. They are like cattle,- nay more misguided: for they are heedless (of warning). (7:179; 72:5)
The decree of denying the jinn
As their existences are made clear through the Quran and the practices of our Prophet, not affirming their existence is regarded as negation.
Today, plenty of things not discovered in the past have been proven through science. The fact that people are unable to see them cannot be evidence for their non-existence because people are incapable of seeing not only the jinn but also many other things. Man is rather limited in seeing, hearing, and understanding. Moreover, considering that we can see merely five out of million things, that we cannot see pain, suffering, love, hatred, fear, mind, electricity, wind and so forth and that we believe in most of them, the invisibility of the jinn does not mean that they do not exist.
Their dwellings
It is understood that jinn are mostly found in ruins, and unclean places. As a matter of fact, our Prophet (pbuh) informed us that the garbage left at home is the place where they come together. Based on this statement, some scholars hold the opinion that our Prophet called our attention to the cleanness in Islam by the fact that, like invisible jinn, the unseen microbes which are fast to reproduce can cause some ailments. They say that some hadiths point out to some microbes by the use of the term jinn. Additionally, it is observed that there used to be a common opinion amongst our Prophets companions and their followers that the jinn would live inside the holes. A hadith relevant to this subject is as follows:
Abdullah b. Sarjis (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates: the Messenger of Allah enjoined us from pissing into holes of insects. The commentators of the Quran asked Qatada why it was rendered reprehensible. Those places are said to be the homes of the jinn he replied. (5)

Best Answer: A Jinn is another level of creation created by Allah. They are created of smokeless fire and have free will like humans, but more of a weaker will. Unlike the Angels who have no free will and are made of light. Jinns can be good or bad, they are invisible to the human eyes in their normal state. The Arabic word Jinn comes from the verb "Janna" which means to hide.
Everyone has a personal Jinn. If a person submits to the will of Allah by becoming Muslim, their Jinn will have to submit. If a person dies and does not submit and become Muslim their Jinn will sit at their grave and curse them until the day of Judgement. Some people allow their Jinn to influence them.
The term Jinnee (Eng. Genie) is equivalent to Jinn, and Jaann may be used as it's plural or as another singular form. In Islamic literature Shaytaan(Eng. satan, devil) is a name given to disbelieving Jinns.

Jinns are not DEVILS OR DEMONS...
I think they would be highly offended by this remark..
they are just other creatures that God created which are of a different matter than us humans.. We cannot see them with our eyes... They have free will like we do, they can live, play, work, have family groups. there are Muslim jinns, atheists, probably of all faiths.. ... There are mischievous ones who like to play tricks on humans, ie: where all the poltergeist stories come from... Some work in conjunction with people who believe in the dark side, like devil worshipers, or witches etc, voodoo, etc.. they will do deeds.. But for the most part, they are not evil, they just do what they do and leave us alone... Prophet Solomon was able to talk with them and see them...
Jinns are ancient creaters were created here before humans and started to kill each others like we doinn right now...so thats y god created humans...to replace them...but we still did the same...but anywho they r creaters created from fire like the devil....but they have good jinns and bad jinns....humans can interact with jinns in very strange way like witches or something like that...sometimes jinns can harm a humans if they got into ur body ...prophit Soloman used to rely on jinns all the time infact he wouldn't have had all that glory if it wan't for the jinns...- A Jinn is an astral being. According to Hinduism there are astral beings called Yakshas... These Yakshas are called as Jinns in Islam and Angels in Christians. Jinns are never bad. Jinns never do bad beings. Although, they posses such power that they can punish bad people. I read numerous Tantra books and found these things.
Actually the men and women who in their human life perform a good karma can get birth into Jinn form... not always but it depends upon their karma. In Hindu Tantra science there are rituals by which you can make these Jinns obey your commands. Lady Jinns are preferred to do so. When a Lady Jinn is under your command you can ask her to behave like your mother, sister or even lover. It is always safe to ask her to act as Mother. When treated as mother or sister these Lady Jinns can bestow upon u supreme wealth, super natural powers and many more. Lady Jinns are heavenly beautiful.If you ask her to act like lover she can fulfill your sexual desires , she can take new human form every time if you want her to . But if after asking her to be lover , you engage with another human woman, she becomes so possessive and angry that she not only destroys your wealth and power but also takes away your life. And after death you become a bad spirit who is under her control. So it is always advised to treat her like Mother or sister.; if done so there is no harm. When the good karma of these Jinns comes to an end they again are born as human beings and they continue their spiritual journey to liberation. In Hinduism a famous Jinn called Kubera is a great warrior who is protector of lord s wealth department. They are just not bad at all. A jinn is a demon. In Islam, we believe that Jinn can be everyone. In fact, there are probably ten in your room right now. You can't see them, and they won't hurt you. They sometimes disguise themselves as humans. If you see someone staring at you, looking very dark, eyes sqinted, mouth open, standing lazy-like, not blinking, not moving, breathing deeply, there's probably a Jinn in him.
Jinns are devils in Islam.
No, we cannot see it but it can disguise as humans.
So, that means when they disguise as humans, we don't know that.
But you also can feel it like a presence.

It's just creatures Allah (SWT) created.
Plus, they won't hurt.
Am I right? ☻- They will exist on this earth till the Day of Judgment since their father, Iblees, asked Allah to give him respite and survival till the Day of Judgment, and Allah has accepted his request.
But we cannot see them, Allah Says (interpretation of meaning) in this concern: {…Verily, he and Qabîluhu (his soldiers from the jinns or his tribe) see you from where you cannot see them. …} [7:27].
However, sometimes Allah may show the Jinn to some of the humans, and they are able to see the Jinn and to talk to them. Allah has granted Jinn the power to adopt forms or shapes of animals and snakes, etc. which is not possible for human beings.
Some people can address Jinn, can enjoin on them the right and forbid them from the wrong, they can even teach them about Islam as the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) did.
One can make Jinns subject to him and use them within permissible limits. If one cannot subject them except by offering sacrifice to them or the like, then it is Shirk.
Residence of Jinn: they live in the same earth where we live but they live mainly in deserts, ruins and impure places such as toilets, garbage dumps, and graveyards. They also exist in abundance in markets.
They also live in the same house where human beings live. But whenever Allah's name is mentioned or Allah is Glorified or the Qur'an is recited, especially Surah al-Baqarah, they flee away from that place.
Jinn eat and drink as proved in Sunnah that the Prophet (p.b.u.h.) said that every bone on which Allah's name was mentioned would be full of meat for Muslim Jinn, and dung of animals becomes feed for their cattle.
The devil eats and drinks with his left hand.
Jinn also marry, propagate and die as reported in Sahih al-Bukhari that Prophet p.b.u.h. used to say: "I seek refuge (with you) by your 'Izzat' (Might), None has the right to be worshipped but You Who does not die while Jinn and human beings die". (al- Bukhari)~!Maria · 10 years ago - ***
