ABSTRACT
Expert System techniques are studied with an objective to apply these in the local socio-economic environment to dispel the misconception that these techniques are useful only for modern business commercial systems. Inheritance system has been chosen to start with for exploring the underlying knowledge areas. This paper discusses the formalization of the expert system application of Islamic Law of Inheritance.
