What is uncaused is caused? American administration is the cause in Afghanistan by; polarization of different militant factions, distribution of bounty, mushroom growth of corruption, gun running to Pakistan border towns, white powder running to throughout the world. So many attractions are there for war lords Haqqani is one of them not so significant but strategically Americans need to name someone for face saving. American cannot handle that mess, they got to go away either leaving behind as it is or trying something like what they did in Japan to bring an end. Because they have tested all means what they thought they should but ZERO + ZERO is ZERO.

In Washington a few days ago, the soon to be ambassador to Pakistan, Richard Olson, pledged before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee that “I will certainly, if confirmed, take it as a central part of my responsibility and the most urgent of my responsibilities to continue to press the Pakistani authorities on the Haqqani network, in every way possible.” Strong words: central part of my responsibility, most urgent of my responsibilities. If one didn’t know any better, and went by the American version of things, the Haqqanis are to blame for everything. But that’s not true, is it? American officials themselves confirm that the Haqqanis account for just ten percent of all attacks on US/Nato forces inside Afghanistan, and for 15 percent of the total casualties. Hardly market leaders in their industry. Then what’s the obsession?….
